TECHWOODN® is leading the way with its environmentally friendly, low maintenance range of wood composite decking boards, which are made from recycled milk containers and non-virgin sawdust products.
TECHWOODN is committed to conserving the environment, and developing products that are environmentally responsible. Approximately 90 per cent of the material content of our decking boards
is either recycled or reclaimed. Each lineal metre of TECHWOODN decking board contains approximately 30 recycled plastic milk bottles and around 1.0 to 2.5 kilograms of reclaimed sawdust dust.
TECHWOODN is particularly suitable for ecologically sensitive areas as it contains no nasty chemicals that could leach out. The environment doubly benefits as the product uses recycled and waste products which would otherwise be squandered, potentially ending up as landfill.
The plantation grown pine dust used within our decking boards is a by-product of timber milling. By using this, we are conserving our precious native forest timbers, and making positive inroads to reducing global warming and habitat degradation. As TECHWOODN requires no painting, staining or oiling this avoids using potentially polluting preservatives.
There are no formaldehydes used in the production of TECHWOODN and there is no noticeable VOCs after processing.
TECHWOODN is developing a "cradle to grave", policy and install facilities to allow us to fully recycle products when they are at the effective end of their lives. This will also allow us to fully recycle any wastage that is inadvertently generated during the manufacture of our products.
